Having pets during the holiday season can be so much fun but there are also many things we need to be extra cautious about to keep our favorite household pets safe, happy & healthy!

Keeping Your Pets Safe and Happy During the Holidays!

The holidays are a special time of year for people, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be for your pets too! From Christmas to New Year’s, our furry family members need just as much love and attention during this festive season. Here are some helpful tips for keeping your pets safe and happy during the holidays.

Safety First!

When it comes to the safety of your pet, there are a few things you should keep in mind when celebrating the holidays. Decorations are an important part of the season, but they can be hazardous to your pet's health if they get swallowed or tangled in them. Tinsel, lights, ribbons, and other decorations should not be accessible to curious cats and dogs who might want to play with them or chew on them. It is also important to make sure all food items are stored away securely so that your pet cannot snack on any holiday treats without you knowing it.  You should also make sure to keep alcoholic beverages out of reach as alcohol can easily harm animals if ingested.  Lastly, do not leave lit candles unattended as a wagging tail or playful paw could easily cause a fire hazard.

Keep Calm and Keep Them Comfortable

The holiday season is typically full of visitors and lots of noise which can often overwhelm both people and pets alike. To ensure that your pet is comfortable during this busy time, set up designated areas in your home where they can retreat from all the commotion if needed. Making sure their favorite toys or comforting blankets are nearby will help them relax even more. Additionally, try setting up their feeding schedule ahead of time so that their routine remains consistent throughout the week despite any changes happening around them.

Playtime Is Still Important

It's easy to forget about playing with your pet while getting caught up in all the holiday festivities but making time for playtime is still important even during this busy season! Set aside at least 30 minutes each day devoted solely to playing with your pet so they don't miss out on any quality bonding time with you amidst all the chaos. This way you can continue creating positive memories together throughout the Holiday season instead of having them feel neglected due to all the extra guests in town.

The holidays may look different this year compared to years past but that doesn't mean our furry friends have to miss out on any fun! With these helpful tips provided above, you'll be able to keep your pets safe and happy while still enjoying yourself during this festive season! Whether it's playing fetch or snuggling up under a blanket together - there's plenty of ways for everyone (including our four-legged family members) to enjoy this Holiday Season!
